Teona Williams recently graduated from Bowdoin College. She majored in History and Environmental Studies with a minor in Africana Studies. While at Bowdoin she participated in the African American Society and the Outing Club. Her research interests included investigating the history of African Americans and wilderness. Teona is a recipient of the Watson Fellowship, which provides 25,000.00 for selected college graduates to independently travel around the world for a year. Beginning in August, Teona will travel to India, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil to observe how marginalized communities participate in outdoor recreation.
